Our friendly and highly experienced team can help you with the diagnosis and management of a wide range of conditions.
We understand mental health symptoms can be present in anyone and can affect people differently depending on the circumstances – that’s why we have numerous expert practitioners specialising in a variety of psychiatric areas. With their help, you’ll be able to start a personalised treatment plan with clear advice, guidance and support for your specific symptoms.
Our psychiatrists and therapists are all dedicated to helping you through this difficult period by improving your wellbeing and supporting you to become the best version of yourself.
In the times we live in, with the recent lockdown due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the London Psychiatry Clinic can offer a confidential, secure online consultation, and you can receive treatment from a psychiatrist of your choice.
The consultation can include official assessment and medical diagnosis of your symptoms, prescription for medication, online therapy and a personalised, holistic treatment plan.
Online psychiatry works much the same way as regular appointments with a psychiatrist. There are no limitations associated with having an appointment online, as you can receive an official diagnosis and prescription for medication if required. You can also receive psychotherapy (psychological talking therapies) online.
After an initial consultation and assessment, your psychiatrist will develop a personalised treatment plan based on your symptoms and diagnosis. Your psychiatrist will be able to develop and oversee your treatment plan with you online, and provide full support for implementation of your treatment plan. Once your treatment has commenced, your psychiatrist will set up sessions to monitor your improvement and may adjust the treatment based on your feedback.
If your psychiatrist suggests medication and you agree to take it, you will receive a prescription after the online consultation. It is legal and ethical for psychiatrists to write prescriptions for their patients after an online evaluation providing that they are licenced and insured. Your psychiatrist will send an electronic prescription directly to a pharmacy of your choice using electronic health records. This means that you can collect the medication directly from your nearest pharmacy at your convenience. You don’t need to worry about taking a prescription to the pharmacy, but you may need to check with the pharmacist that they have the medication ready before you go to pick it up. Certain pharmacies are also able to deliver your prescriptions right to your door.
Our online therapy services allow you to access a range of different psychotherapies (psychological talking therapies) with trained psychiatrists and psychotherapists. We understand the need for flexibility and confidentiality when you’re seeking professional support, so we have a range of options for accessing online psychotherapy services to suit your preferences. You can use your phone, computer or a tablet for your video consultation.
Our psychiatrists have significant experience with psychopharmacology, and medication reviews are an important part of many people’s treatment plan.
A medication review is an opportunity to reconsider the medications you are taking. Our team of experts are able to revisit your medications and assess how you’re doing on them.
If you are taking multiple medications, the psychiatrist will consider any possible interactions between them during your review. This is also an opportunity to ask any questions or voice any concerns you have about your medications so that you feel comfortable with your treatment plan.
A medical review can be part of a second opinion. See our page on second opinions for more information.
Our psychiatrists are all able to do a home visit, there are many benefits to seeing a psychiatrist from the comfort of your own home. A home visit is when the doctor visits you at home or other location of your choice, so you don’t need to make any trips to the doctor’s office and can even stay in bed if you’d prefer.
When assessing ADHD symptoms in children and adolescents, we use a combination of parent and school reports, clinical observation and interviews with parents, teachers and your child. We can also assess whether there are any comorbid conditions or cognitive difficulties that may be complicating an ADHD diagnosis.
When assessing ADHD symptoms in adults, our psychiatrists use a combination of clinical assessment, developmental history, behavioural tendencies and symptoms.
We provide fast-tracked and accurate autism assessments, as well as second opinions on autism diagnoses. Our psychiatrists have extensive experience in autism and will provide the highest level of expertise when making recommendations. We can tailor assessments around the needs of your child ensuring a flexible and sensitive approach to put them at ease, while using the internationally standardised measures of the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2) and the Autism Diagnostic Interview-Revised (ADI-R).
We are able to offer a range of neurocognitive assessments including memory and cognition assessments. These will be carried out by a neuropsychiatrist.
At LPC we have a large team of consultant psychiatrists, many of whom are child & adolescent psychiatrists, which means they can treat anyone from 2 to 17 years old.
We understand that conditions caught and treated during development is a unique opportunity to curtail potential difficulties that may have otherwise gone undiagnosed until adulthood, or never diagnosed at all.
We have an education, health and care service which offers children, teenagers and their parents the chance to learn about their conditions and how best to manage them from a young age. Our child and adolescent psychiatrists are well-versed in various child therapy techniques, and they offer comprehensive parental support and advice, so that effective treatment for your child or teenager can continue at home.
A second opinion is simply an assessment that is done by an additional, independent doctor who has fresh eyes on your case. You may have already been given a diagnosis, but don’t feel it suits what you’re experiencing.
On the other hand, you may have been told there is nothing wrong at all, but you still don’t feel right. Our psychiatrists are happy to provide second opinions. If that is your preference, we can work in conjunction with your existing doctor, or we can write a letter to you after the consultation with us.
If you are feeling that your current diagnosis, or lack thereof, does not sit quite right, we’re here to help.Visit our second opinions page for more information.
We have significant experience in preparing a wide range of medico-legal reports.
At the London Psychiatry Clinic, we pride ourselves on providing clear and concise independent expert witness reports and medico-legal reports with a fast turnaround. We can prepare high-quality reports for claimants, defendants, or on a joint instructional basis.
Due to our extensive experience, we’re able to anticipate your needs, and we can ensure all reports carry a high level of clarity in their recommendations. When producing a report, we’ll take instruction from you directly and provide appropriate guidance when needed.
Our consultant psychiatrist experts have experience producing reports in the fields of child and adolescent psychiatry, family psychiatry, old age psychiatry, forensic and neuropsychiatry.
