What makes us different?

We strive to make the process of booking an assessment or consultation with one of our psychiatrists as simple and as easy as possible.

If you are getting in touch with us for the first time, our friendly, helpful and experienced team of practice managers will take the time to listen to you and evaluate your concerns. They understand how daunting it can be to make an appointment with a psychiatrist if you or your loved one have never seen one before. They’ll be able to help you find a psychiatrist with the right experience, skill set, approach and personality to suit your needs.

If you or your loved one are currently experiencing a crisis, our practice management team will also be able to liaise with the available psychiatrists to accommodate short-notice or urgent consultations. We understand that mental health difficulties cannot be planned, and seldom fit into a schedule, so wherever possible we’ll try to find an out-of-hours (late evening or weekend) appointment for you when you most need it.

What are your fees?

Our fees start from £395 for a 1-hour consultation. The fees for follow-up appointments tend to be lower.

We are able to offer appointments for different durations, ranging from 20 minutes to about 2 hours.

Every psychiatrist and therapist has their own separate fees. You can see their fees on their individual profiles.

We are currently in the process of upgrading our online booking system, which will be live in the coming months.

At LPC we are conscious that choosing a psychiatrist to work with can feel like a life changing decision. We know that talking about your problems, concerns and emotions can be difficult. If, after speaking with one of our practice managers, you are still feeling unsure as to which psychiatrist may be best for you, we’ll be able to arrange a brief courtesy call directly with one of our psychiatrists. This means you will not only have an opportunity to directly ask the psychiatrist any questions you may have, but also get a good first impression of the psychiatrist themselves, their approach and their manner. We know that details like this are particularly important if you are looking for help and support for your child. Our approachable and empathic child & adolescent psychiatrists truly understand how important it is to choose the right professional.

If for any reason we are unable to register you with LPC and book a consultation for you (for example, perhaps you are insured with a company we don’t accept), our practice management team will signpost you to alternative private psychiatrists whom we trust or other relevant support organisations.

We pride ourselves in our delivery of the highest level of customer care, and our practice management team will always take the time to listen to you and will do their very best to help. Whether you’re booking your first appointment, requesting a repeat prescription or liaising with your insurers, we can guide you through each process.

No, you can self-refer to see our psychiatrists.

However, wherever possible it is helpful for them to have a referral letter from your GP or other health professional, so as to receive as much information as possible ahead of your consultation.

Some insurance companies may also require you to have a formal referral to a psychiatrist, so it is always best to check with your insurance provider ahead of booking.

In most cases, a 1 hour consultation is sufficient for an initial appointment with one of our psychiatrists. This will allow them to assess your history, your current situation, and create a collaborative treatment plan with you.

If you have a particularly complex history, or you would simply prefer more time with the psychiatrist, we can book a 90min or 2 hour appointment for you.

If your initial consultation is for an assessment (for instance, ADHD), this will require a longer appointment and our practice management team will be able to talk you through the assessment process.

You do not have to book a follow up consultation with us, but it is generally recommended, especially if you have started a new medication or if your current medication dose has been changed. These appointments can be shorter (30 min) or longer if you prefer.

Yes, we are able to accept most health insurances.

We are currently unable to accept AXA PPP, BUPA UK or Vitality Health.

You will need to provide us with your policy number and authorisation code in order to confirm your appointment with us. Sometimes your medical insurer may require the psychiatrist to provide a medical report following your consultation – we do not charge any additional fee for this and we will not send such a report to your insurer without your consent.

Of course, you are also welcome to self-pay if you are not insured.

If you are self-funding, payment will need to be made ahead of your consultation in order to confirm the time slot. We are able to accept all debit/credit cards, including American Express and international cards. Payment can be made over the phone. Our patient portal is currently being upgraded, and once this work is finished, you will be able to pay online, simply and easily. We are also able to accept payment via bank transfer if that is more convenient for you.

If paying through insurance, in order to secure your slot with us you will need to provide us with a pre-authorisation code prior to your appointment.

To protect your privacy, your bank statement will simply state “LPC Ltd.”

If you would prefer to pay with cash, please let us know and we can discuss this with you.

We offer remote video consultations with our psychiatrists Monday – Saturday and occasionally on Sundays, including evenings.

We also hold face-to-face clinics in Central London (Harley Street) and Birmingham.

Yes. We are able to assess both children and adults for ADHD. Please see our ADHD assessment page for further information or contact our practice management team.
Yes, we are able to arrange ASD assessments for children. Please see our ASD assessment page for further information or contact our practice management team.
Yes. We understand how important it is for you to feel comfortable with your psychiatrist, so our team of practice managers will be happy to discuss your specific requirements with you.
If you are happy to have them present, then absolutely. We believe the more support you have, the better.
We have a number of psychiatrists who are able to consult in languages other than English, or we can arrange an interpreter for you (although this would involve an additional fee).
Yes. We can arrange a home visit if required – please see our home visit page.
We can offer home visits in these circumstances – please call our practice management team or see our home visit page for further information. However, we are unable to provide emergency care, and in some circumstances it may be more appropriate for you to contact their GP or ring 111. Our practice management team will be able to advise you on the best steps to take in this situation.
We understand that sometimes it may be difficult for someone to reach out for help when they are feeling unwell. We can book a consultation for you regarding a loved one, to help you understand the situation and to offer advice and support to you.
